Help deciding a Baby name for a boy?

Hi my husband and i really like the name Mateo for a boy pronounced MAH-TAY-O. It means a gift from god. But we wanted to know the public opinion and see how others perceive it, we've gotten a mixed message from the family. So please say if you like it or no and if you don't, a nice but unique boy name you like instead, we're open to anything really :)
