Can someone help me on the ipod touch?

hey i recently got an ipod, and ive been trying tot find out how to Connect to the internet but IDK what to put for the psw, Is the psw the router's psw, or the wireless security? i really dont know what to do !): & i went to the 192.168.1.1 website and changed the router psw & then i tried to logg in on my ipod touch but nothing changed!
